So, after much ado about USC, I got so burned out that at the moment, I am not doing anything about it. Well, kind of. Bad, I know. In the final bit of 'work' with USC, they were going to need me to redo all the paperwork, then they might be able to get me back in w/out this happening again. Not to mention I would need to catch up in all classes, etc. So, I pretty much said, screw this, and am planning on taking classes online until May to 'tide me over' so to speak, through the spring semester. I am going to work on the paperwork now (not 'now', just like, 'within the semester now' sort of thing,....) for the classes I am going to take for May and the summer. SO, just riding and getting work done NOW.
Geez.
In other news, back to riding! I know, I have been so bad about it, wedding this, USC that,.......I HAVE been riding, working at the barn, etc. Matter of fact, just yesterday I got my Jeep stuck at Hidden Creek farm and eventually got it pulled out (thanks to a gentleman with a large truck, some chain, and some leadropes that are now tied so tightly together, Danny and I will be undoing them for days to come,.......), with only a few of the older leadropes popping that will be replaced later today. In saying all that, I did leave some large tire slides and prints in the mud, as PROOF I WAS THERE at the barn.
Riding.
So, yes, my derriere can still fit into a saddle. Ha. Ha.
Seriously, it can.
and does. and always will!
I sidetrack, yet again, and after 20 oz. of coffee you would think I'd be on track. Oh well, let me try 40 oz., and I'll get back to ya.
Sasha was good yesterday, at the end I think she was tired and trying to dump a bit on the right fore. We've been working on riding everything with shoulder-fore, w/t/c,....especially the canter. It strengthens and straightens. She needs it.
(and I need it!)
She is such a good girl, really trying hard, but when she is tired, she makes it known, as any horse I suppose, but she ups the ante with evasions and bearing down. Something to work through; however, I know she was trying, and at the end, did get a good right lead shoulder-fore/shoulder-in, volte, canter-walk transition with her straight, collected, sitting, and obedient to the right. We did work hard yesterday for about 45 minutes, so I don't blame her getting tired. Since I am not on campus, I am dedicating myself to riding and working, really getting in shape and getting Sasha and I, and Pokey and I, really moving along and in shape together, really being disciplined and correct about everything. I am definitely using this time to the advantage here, and taking every bit of it to work with.
Bootcamp Dressage, here we come.
I'll try to post more as well, I promise. I would love to get this blog more updated, more recently, and with more posts, links, photos, videos, perhaps even contests if I have readers out there! (Yelling into the abyss, "helloooooooo"????)
Who knows??
Regardless, this is a document of our work and my journey to my dreams. Oh yeah, and some USC drama and Danny work put in for good measure.
See ya, I am off to clean stalls, and pick up more lead ropes. Then see if I have enough $$ to pay bills. Yay.
