Yesterday was productive. Went to Dalzell and did barn at WAF, cleaned stalls, fed lunches, switching blankets ( or taking blankets off, rather ), cleaning up barn and cleaning out waterers in the pasture. Also, fed Gu (and Joey) some carrots, which he throughly enjoyed. Bless him. He and Joey are good buddies, so that makes me feel better about his time off. They do enjoy each other,......doesn't make me feel so guilty all the time.
Anyway,....sidetracking there. But, it was nice. Just me and the barn. I will sometimes play music or NPR, but I do love to just be in the silence. It's nice. No traffic, people ( for the most part, sometimes there are, but yesterday, no one was there ),.....it's nice. Just horses, sunshine, (35 degree weather in a T-shirt,......but who's counting???? Ha-ha. ) and some birds. Very peaceful.
Saw D for lunch, kind of uneventful, but did see his dad, who is sick as well. We had lunch at his dad's (his parent's) house, eating some leftovers. Thanks Sweeney Cafe!
Then, rode Pokey. Had an interesting phone call yesterday and while I do not need to go into great detail to describe what it was about to protect any names/figures, I was a bit 'distraught' afterwards, for lack of a better word. So, get Pokey, tack him up, talking to him the whole time, hop on, and I literally talked it out to him the entire time I rode him. In return, he was excellent. It was really good therapy for me. Horses = therapy.
Proven yet again.
In the end, resolved I think, conflict, for the most part, so I am not stressing anymore about it, but I do owe so much to that little spotted Appy. What a good boy. I tell you what, horses (and ponies ) just know when they are 'needed' and boy do they deliver; I am convinced they know what goes on and know what we are saying. They just do. Man, I love that little pony. Man, I love equines.
