I refuse to say this: Ding-Dong, The AVON lady is here.........I am NOT the AVON lady. But I sell it. :D

Wow, I am slack. To anyone reading, I must seem like the slackest slack on the face of the earth! But wait! Don't stop now- I have my reasons! Really! I do! I am begging of you! Please,......give me another chance!;)
Well, after reading my other post, the last one that is, ( well, all of them really! ), I have got some catching up to do! Haha, no pressure.
Soooo, I went to Jenna's that night, ( I comment back on this seemingly trivial aspect as of then, but only if I knew what was to befall of this visit. ) to be a 'free facial' customer for her new and upcoming Mary Kay business. I went not really interested in buying ( after spending $27.00 dollars later on lipstick and foundation I tried and really liked,.......), going more as a support to her and her new business,........after hearing what she explained as to her reasons for doing the Mary Kay (she was invited to sell when she went to a friend's house for a facial or party that was selling Mary Kay,.....), however, I was intrigued. She was selling to help cover some of the costs of her upcoming wedding ( she is engaged-actually got engaged 3 days after I did! ) and to begin to cover some of her college loans she will be faced with when she graduates next year. Ok, I can understand and relate to that. Got me thinking. Could I do this? Granted, I am not a makeup person, but I am smart and know 'how to' do specific tricks and know what 'looks good' and what doesn't, believe it or not. Or so I like to think. Haha,.........;).
So anyway, I digress from my 'original' topic ( by the way, is there ever an "original" topic,......? Didn't think so. )
Got me thinking,........I could do this. Well, prayed about it and talked to Danny about it and thought about it a lot. Told Jenna ( who thought it was great! ) that I would like to set up a meeting with her 'manager', for lack of a better title, to talk about it and see if it would be something I could do. In the meantime, Danny and I decided to get a haircut. Ah-ha! Yet another crucial now, not so apparent at the time, turning point in this little tale of trials and tribulations in my decision-making process,.......
We went to the local (only open) barber shop in Dalzell on Sunday,......that is, the only one open on Sunday. The hairdresser sold AVON. In talking with her, she explained it was only $10.00 to join and to see if it was 'for us/me',......after telling her I was interested in perhaps selling Mary Kay, but wanted to weigh my options,.......for a decision like this and now, adding in AVON, which makeup company was better for me to sell????
Well, this left me with my mind reeling. Wow, as I am considering to sell something to the similar liking of such (Mary Kay for those not really following that,.....), we 'stumble' across a shop selling AVON. It seemed so right. So, 'answered to prayer' sort of idea.
Well, scheduled a 'meeting', or rather, to come to a meeting with her AVON recruits, to see if 'this was for me',......sound familiar?
After a week, and two different 'meetings to see which to sell', b/c I just had this feeling that this would be a good business 'venture' for me, and lots of talking with Danny and his dad, who is very wise I might add, :) ( and a leprechaun, ha-ha,....), I (we) decided that AVON would be the right thing for us to do first, then to decide if, after 6 months (the time margin of selling it to then look back and evaluate our business) of selling it, if it is 'worth the while' and what our profit/debit/time margins are after that time,......to see if it is for us.
The reasons? I won't list all here, as I have a lot to catch up on and probably will require several posts,.....however,....the main one I will give to you:
AVON sells Skin So Soft oil, something we horse people ( at WAF at least ) use as fly sprays and show shine additives. Buying it from the Tack Room gets expensive and hey, I am a sucker for getting something like this at a 'distributor price', so we/I decided to sell it, even just for that. Regardless of whether I decided to sell the Mary Kay or not, I was going to be a rep. for AVON just to get the Skin So Soft for myself and the barn- I also knew I would have a client base with the horse people I know, at least in the show and summer/fly months! Well, that then leads back to the question of selling AVON or Mary Kay,........why not try the AVON first seeing as how you are now a rep for all of it anyway? See if you like it, if you can sell it, or at least find the equivalent of what you use as makeup, skincare ( which was the equivalent of both 'soap and water' for Danny and I, so it was really finding a skincare system they offered that we liked,.......*still working on that, but that is for another day, another post*), sunscreen, bath stuff, shampoo/conditioner, and hellooooooo!!!! our shopping for gifts is done! I could just hear the proverbial groaning ( or cheers of joy depending on how you look at it ) from our friends and family, knowing that their Christmas and Birthday lists are long gone,......AVON it is from now on, and probably forever, knowing how AVON reps ( or 'independent reps' in general ) get a reputation for having stock or inventory of a little of everything and will continue to use it once they are long gone from the business for stockings, gifts, etc. :) Muah-ha-ha. :) But, take heart, my fellows, alas, the world is not to an end,.....AVON offers some great stuff!
Not that I knew that coming in, other than the Skin So Soft oil, I have never used any of AVON's stuff. Well, first order proved to be the 'demonstration and trial' order; ordered samples and demos, etc. in addition to the orders that just fell in my lap, so to speak, once I told people around me I was selling AVON! Wow! This could get good! :) So, trying AVON's new fresh product lines continues. :) So I am now selling AVON part time in addition to riding, work, studies, etc. etc. Busy busy. :)
So, as much as I hate to make this a forever long post, I will just catch up on some of the things that were in the trials of the last post.....
  • Truck is 'better', several hundred dollars later. Still looking for something smaller, more gas-efficient, same requirements ( jeep wrangler, small truck,......looking at the Toyota Tacoma perhaps? I am a FORD girl though,......we'll see. For the sake of gas-efficiency, Toyota might be an answer, updates when something comes of this, perhaps. )
  • Guru is still lame, same issues, same ideas, no new vets or therapists, etc. Instead, we have put him on 1/2 stall rest ( in at night, out at day in his 'favourite' field he is happy in with his little field shelter! ), no riding, lunging once a week or so to see any progress or changes in his grade of lameness,......getting a little better on the lunge, but gets worse the longer he trots, so not really doing any work with him- just rest for now, which I am OK with, we've done this before. I am happy to give him the rest he needs, as long as he needs to heal properly and completely. Mike Scott is coming out Thursday 10:30am before Dr. Nicole Cunningham comes out Friday 12:30 noon, so hopefully good news will be available by the end of the week. We'll see. *crosses fingers*
Also, just a sidenote, I MIGHT have some Dressage horses to ride/school/show! I am so excited, updates as I know more! :) Just had to make a happy little note about that. :) Yay! Whoo-hoo! Thank you Lord! :) Praying for this to work out!!
Ok, whew, I think that is it for updates now, for now. ;)
