As I wait for the local coffee shop to open at 8am, ( its 7:57am right now), thought I'd post a little something so I will not have to 'catch up' too badly.
This past week has been very busy, regardless of the fact that Di and Brad got home (safely!) last Wednesday evening. So, I have been working a lot in the house and going to the barn in the mornings.
Mike Scott, our equine massage therapist and great friend, came out to massage the horses at the barn and also to massage and check on Guru, who is still lame, left fore, lower leg/hoof we believe, regardless of his reactions to the blocks we did with the vet. Anyway, Mike watched him move out and worked on him, with some more severe reactions this time than last time ( last week?) when I had him out to see what he thought about Gu's mysterious lameness. There was more compository soreness ( compensations of the injury. ) on the right side and definite 'toe-heel' action and lower leg/below the fetlock/hoof soreness when he moved out.
So, Gu is on more stall rest, really limiting the 'turn out' times we had for him to limit the compensations on the right side, as well as once I get this vet bill paid off, I am going to have my other vet who has been on leave for 3 months, come out, talk with Mike and the other vets who have worked on him, and most likely ( see what she thinks,.....) get an x-ray of the fetlock and hoof, coffin bone, heel, navicular, etc. There has to be an answer. It's frustrating that they cannot just talk and let us know, but they do tell us, just in a way we have to figure out. So oh well. It will be resolved. Everyone seems ( Mike, Di, etc. ) to be pretty positive about it-that once you figure out what it is, he may just need an injection (cortisol) and he'll be good to go. I miss him though terribly-riding that is-.
AND, while I will still be a bearer of 'bad news', my truck's transmission is going out, so I am really searching for a new ( new to me sort of deal here! ) small truck or jeep ( like a wrangler perhaps??) to have. I love my old white truck, but I am afraid it is going to put me side of the road b/c of it.
So, yesterday was quite a bummer. Did try to get some cleaning done, but of course, I was dehydrated, so I crashed and slept until Danny came home at 9-ishpm last night from work and found me.
SO, I have decided that today is going to be a good day. :D Here is what I am going to try to do; as long as I stay/am busy with things, I think I tend to do better, not focusing on the 'bad things' and getting depressed or whatever-like Di has told me, and I hold this very close to me,....You have to keep busy and just 'do' things when you feel 'down' or are overwhelmed. The only thing you can do is to break it apart into manageable sections and just hack away at it until you have completed it. You just have to 'DO'.
My "To-Do" for today:
-Coffee
-Lunge Pokey ( after a week off due to a missing shoe and farrier coming out yesterday )
-Get grocery list of cleaning supplies (dish soap, detergent, dryer sheets, etc. )
-Clean house
-Leave in time to get to BB&T bank for Danny's truck payment
-Leave in time to go to bank to get checks(D/E account) and make F&Co. deposit
-Write landlord rent check
-Meet with Jenna at 5:30pm at her house
-Finish cleaning house tonight
Tomorrow I will take evaluations of what has been cleaned, needs to be finished up, and what I 'need' to help organize everything.
Tomorrow I will also be going up to Columbia to finish up all of my USC and online classes (Cola/Sumter USC campuses) paperwork shit.
Ok, coffee shop should be open now,.......;).
