Danny and I have been making up our Christmas list, and budget, for this year. We are going to be in Nebraska over Christmas, so I am trying to get this all done. Actually, really, I like to give out stuff to certain people over Christmas, it's fun. It can be expensive though, so we are working on trying to keep everything simple and work on it slowly. Just getting things here and there, so it's not such a money-pinch at the last second, as we have done before. Also, we are going to do a 'Christmas letter' again this year. I did one last year, including little photos of Guru and I and of Danny and I, and so this year I think we'll do the same, a letter with some photos. It's a good way to let a lot of people know, 1). what we're doing lately, 2). that it's kind of like a Christmas gift to those ( like a Christmas card ) that I am not giving gifts to, nothing personal. I am just, we are just, poor and in school. Give me a break. ;)
It can get hard to try to find out what to get someone right now though, so far away from Christmas,.......you really have to think more about what they would actually 'use' as opposed to the typical thought-process so many people get around the Christmas time of what 'to get suchandsuch for a Christmas gift', thinking of it more as a Christmas gift than something FOR the person. You do not have the advertising or Christmas 'hulabub' just yet, so you are thinking more in the lines of, 'what can I get for them that if I gave them now, they would love and use' sort of thing,.....
It's a good way to think about giving someone something-giving what they need and really want to use rather than just a 'want'.
So, also, I am working on Danny's gift, which I am so tempted to blog about, but so afraid to ruin anything if he finds out. So, for now, I will just say that I am glad that this is going on for him, he deserves this gift more than most people deserve much of anything. He works so hard, he is going to LOVE this, I hope. :D Also, I am glad that I am starting to work on it, or rather, have been working on it, now, because it is going to be quite the undertaking; it needs to be done by/before Christmas, and that is quite the realistic deadline for this. So excited. Hope it all works out. ;)
What am I getting Guru? Mmmmmm, depending on how he is doing closer to Christmas, it will either be a double bridle with the bits or lots and lots of carrots, apples, and bananas for his down time in the pasture ( or rehab ). We'll see. :D.
Now, off to class and get some stockings, Christmas decorations, and eggnog in the middle of October,........
