Video Camera at A,....

Rode yesterday, despite the rain and damp cold air that just seemed to fall over the whole Hidden Creek farm and Blythewood to Hopkins area.

Set up the video camera at A, and was a little better as far as seeing the horse and human pair in the arena, just cut off the K and F corners for about 10 seconds each time. And then, in the middle of our last bit of canter work ( the stuff I kind of really wanted to actually see, although I want to see all of it to study,.....), the camera cut itself off,.....

......like an automated 'off' switch b/c 'no activity' was done to it for so long, so w/e.

Did get some 'good' photage of our warm-up, but I am still on the lookout for a better place to put this freakin' camera.

It would seem like a fairly simply equation to the passer-by, the lay-man, of sorts, but it really is not, you see. The arena is elevated from the ground a bit, so as soon as the arena fence stops, the ground slopes down and in various places, it very uneven. So, I was able to figure that I need to fandangle ( yes, it's a word,......kind of ) the legs of the tripod unvevenly to balance the camera so it was level and somewhat steady-NO need for falling over, please.
So, today, despite ( I use that word too much today I think,....) the weather and my back, I think I will be able to go out there and try again today. Today might just be a double bridle day,........or a hack day. We'll see.
Ya know, it isn't the riding that 'gets me' at all, I love that and don't care if I am sore or tired after that, that is good. It's the damn driving back and forth, all the freakin' gas I am using up and spending money on that I hate. I need a new, fuel-efficent vehicle for this job my friends. I believe this b/c two things:
1). I do not trust my truck anymore to haul a horse-trailer any long distances-which was the main reason I have been keeping it. (and that it IS a good truck-truck!)
2). I have many friends with trucks and trailers (SAFE trucks and trailers) if I need anything like that or have to use something like that, and that since I am now riding horses for people and training, reschooling, showing (hopefully), etc. I need something that I will be able to travel in without a huge cost of overhead and repairs (including gas).
So, that being said, still on the lookout for a small Toyota Tachoma or Ford Ranger, or a Jeep Wrangler,..........

Guru, my love
