Updates on the ponies:
Guru
- Gu is sound (for now!).
- I switched farriers and am very happy so far with my decision to do so.
- Gu is up to 20 min. of walk and 2 min. of trot under saddle.
- His soles are being painted about 3x a week (when I am out there!) with Venice Turpentine. I plan on wrapping his hooves in the Epsom-salt/DMSO poultice daily for a bit (several times a week) to help with hardening his hooves while I am at WAF. It has made a huge difference. Along with not trimming his soles and hoof wall, letting them tough out.
- I also plan on getting Danny on Guru quite a bit while we are farmsitting at WAF to help me with his fitness schedule.
Sasha
- Is at ST, she was at WAF, but is back at ST.
- I go there when I can.
- Good news though, is that she is being ridden more by ST, so not just sitting and getting out of shape (unlike others we know, *cough cough*).
- She is feeling very good, I feel like I 'have' her with me still.
Holly
- is my 'new' project horse.
- is for sale.
- is a 4 yr old registered appendix QH with an excellent mind.
- was started western, so switching her to dressage stuff, slowly.
- has good gaits, picks up leads, stops, backs.
- just got her mane pulled from a shaggy wild look about a foot or two long-and fell asleep for me to do it!-
- is about 2 minutes, if that, down the road from me, so easy to get over there quickly in the AM, like what I should be doing now, to ride/work ;).
Flori- getting better, doing undersaddle work of regular time and intervals of trotwork, ridden daily, will be continuing the undersaddle work with me while at WAF.
Geyser- getting a vet out to look at today, going up to ST's to ride for ST and vet, something going on in hind end, just got SI injected, but something else is going on.
Just a few little updates, not much going on other than rehab work and groundwork (for now) with Miss Holly.
-Em
