So, moving in still. However, it seems to have taken almost a backseat to Danny and I's work.
Thank God, my good friend Mary got me a client here in Horrell Hill, so I am riding and working with them 3x a week, which is great, keeps me much busier and happier. It's just one, but it is at least a 'foot in the door' so to speak. Hopefully Emily Snapp Dressage (?) will expand. :) The little horse I am riding is a lovely App. gelding that is about 7 yrs. old I believe and needs 'direction' and guidance on what to do, when, and what is expected of him. Four rides/sessions into it, he is almost like a totally different horse-willing, open, and feeding from praise. It is so rewarding to see him evolve mentally ( and physically! ), I leave on a high after each good ride. :)
Guru has sustained an injury to his left front, leg or shoulder. I have had two vets out ( God bless them and their patience with me and my questions! ) in the past two weeks, but to no avail. So, he is on stall rest until I can get his massage therapist and equine expert, Mike Scott, out to see if he can feel/see anything that blocks and xrays do not pick up. ( blocked the lower leg to the 4-point block, xray-ed the knee, then blocked the shoulder and elbow 4 days later, no change in gait lameness ). So, he is off right now, which brings me down, but I am trying to look at it positively, we've gone through lamenesses before, so we know the drill. I am just keeping busy with other horses and house and soon to be class prep.
Anyway, so, I am in my *office* now, internet hooked up(!), munching on some great homemade scones I made yesterday, and some great coffee (made by Danny this morning....:D ).
Today, my goal is to remain positive, calm, and happy. :D
My schedule today looks straightforward enough, hopefully:
1) Go to barn this morning to handwalk Guru, pick up tack for Pokey.
2) Ride Pokey in Horrell Hill this afternoon/late morning.
3) Back at the house, work on the online classes and setting up classes at least for the Fall 2009 ONLINE courses. If all goes well (smoothly) with that, work on setting up remaining classes needed at the campuses, Columbia and Sumter.
The only horse I have scheduled to ride is Pokey; Di and I talked about me riding Nattie this week some, so that will be fun! I need to be able to really ride her like I need to, like Di does. That is on my schedule for Wednesday. I will have to confirm that today when I go out there, but that is what I have written down. :D Pray that goes well. I really guess I just do not want to let Diana down, I really have a passion to be able to ride Nattie, we are both so much further along, we should be able to get there!! :D :D She's a cool little horse, a real powerhouse!!
Hopefully all will go well, I had planned to write a little bit deeper here this morning, just felt like I needed to, but this is what I got, so maybe some later. Good stress reliever to get any thoughts out (maybe not enough coffee yet,...........).
Positive, calm, happy,........have a great day. :D Love the rain!
